I will keep it short. At 48 years old, I was able to retire. Worked hard, made good investments and looked forward to spending quality years with my wife. Two years later I was diagnosed with cancer. Just finished my 10th year of the battle. as a teen, my family was unable to buy me a car ( drove my Moms ). Always wanted ’69 Camaro. While fighting cancer cost, high insurance premiums ( up to $30k per year before Affordable Healthcare Act ) I managed to save enough and look for Camaro about 1 1/2 years ago. Last month Mecum came to Louisville and I went. I purchased a ’69 Z28 with 22,000 miles on it- a frame off restoration including rebuilding of 302 DZ motor. drove home and parked. took out this week for drive and it threw rods through both sides of oil pan. this motor, as you know, has aluminum block, etc. it is all numbers matching. i am certainly sick but have to move forward. on scale 1-10, this car is a solid 9, maybe 9+. i need advice on where to turn.
